State of Concept Athens 4.62

State of Concept is the first non-profit institution of its kind in Athens, with a permanent location and a continuous programme, that promotes Greek and international artists through solo exhibitions, but also invites international curators to create exhibitions that comment on the current socio-political landscape. It aims to be a bridge between Athens and the international contemporary art scene.

It hosts four exhibitions per year, focusing on solo exhibitions of international artists that have never exhibited in Greece with its main aim being to introduce artists that are not widely known and easily accessible to Greek audiences.

The institution is also focusing on a pedagogical program that enables Greek art students and artists through free consultations, to further their studies and develop their projects. Moreover, State of Concept organises a variety of events and projects including talks, screenings and seminars, whilst also operating as an open platform that hosts fellow curators and artists for talks, events and presentations.
