Island of Crete WINTER Sports Preparation destination Crete island covers the thematic units of ATHLETICS in appropriate sports infrastructure for the preparation period between October-May 2016/17.
Crete is the largest and most populous of the Greek islands and the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. It forms a significant part of the economy and cultural heritage of Greece; while it retains its own local cultural traits and retains the center the 1st Civilization in Europe-the Minoan. Visitors reach the island via two international airports in Heraklion and Chania, or by boat to four main ports from Pireus port of Attica, Greece.
Crete’s unique geographical position along with the mild Mediterranean climate conditions, its rich gastronomic Med Diet and the modern athletics infrastructure, with the high level hospitality facilities allows athletes to get prepared in an efficient athletic environment co- ordinated by a chief experienced trainer and achieve their goals.
