Akademi Platonik 1.98

Akademi didirikan oleh Plato pada tahun 387 SM di Athena. Aristoteles belajar di akademi Plato selama dua puluh tahun sebelum ia mendirikan sekolahnya sendiri. Akademi ini berdiri selama periode Helenistik, hingga kematian Philo dari Larissa tahun 83 SM. Filsuf-filsuf masih terus mengajarkan filsafat Plato di Athena pada masa kekuasaan Romawi. Pada tahun 410, akademi kembali didirikan sebagai pusat neoplatonisme. Akademi Neoplato ditutup oleh Kaisar Yustinianus I pada tahun 529.Referensi H.
