Megali Ammos Beach,Kefalonia 4.63

Οn the road from Argostoli to Lassi-Airport-Svoronata when you see
the sign that says Minies you make a right turn,you pass through the village
and you reach first to Spasmata beach and after a little longer you arrive at
Megali Ammos beach.
The endangered turtles Caretta-Caretta come here and lay their eggs
deep in the sand every year in the months April & May.
From late August until the mid of October all of the eggs hatch in a safe enviroment and the newborn turtles go into the water and begin a very long
and full of dangers trip.
After 30-40 years they will probably come back where they were born!!
