The historic town of Anogeia is located at the foot of Mt. Psiloritis at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level. Its distance from the major towns of Heraklion and Rethymnon is 36 km and 52 km, respectively. Throughout history the inhabitants of Anogeia have remained faithful to their morals and customs which form the backbone of the Cretan civilization.

In recent years there are significant local developments in alternative forms of tourism for which the inhabitants have created suitable infrastructure. The town of Anogeia carries its own traditional ambience and boasts of a rare natural environment, rich historical and cultural heritage and significant touristic infrastructure which, as a whole, attracts thousands of visitors every year. Interesting Sights: A tour of the natural park of Psiloritis. The mountain is a member of the European Geoparks Network and of the UNESCO World Heritage. Other interesting sights are the Minoan settlement of Zomynthos, the Nida Plateau, the archaeological site of Idaeon Antron (Cave), the Observatory of Skinakas, the stone-build shepherd huts (mitata) and the perennial Hollies and Maples (Acers) which give form to a unique terrain. The church of Saint John with its 13th century icons and the Folk Art Museum of Grilios are located in the town of Anogeia. If you stroll through the alleys and squares of this town you will discover shops selling local textile products, and you may be pleasantly surprised by the spirit of local hospitality with an invitation to taste the raki (local alcoholic drink), pastries, dairy products and meat dishes. This unit is built at the centre of Anogeia and is located at the back of the Health Centre. The unit commands a panoramic view of the Cretan landscape and captures every majestic sunrise. The unit features spacious and well-designed rooms and common spaces: reception, lounge, main kitchen and breakfast hall with fireplace, TV, free Internet round the clock, elevator and a spacious parking lot. In terms of capacity, there are 12 convenient apartments, with single/double/triple rooms, as well as four-room apartments particularly designed for families with children.
