Folegandros island

The small Island of Folegandros is still an untouched piece of true Greece. On account of the simple and relaxing atmosphere that reigns all around the island we like to distinguish it as the "island of Peace".

What catches the eye immediately is the endless series of "dry-placed" walls that have been erected over the centuries by the inhabitants to create terraces on the sunny slopes of the territory to be able to raise cereals.

Folegandros isola

La piccola Folegandros è vera Grecia. Praticamente ha tre insediamenti: il porto Karavostasi, il centro Chora, e un paesino Ano Merià, ed una unica strada che collega questi centri.

Ma l’isola è piena di gioielli: dal paesaggio, con migliaia di chilometri di muretti a secco che scandiscono il degradare delle colline, alla pace che si trova nelle tre piazzette in fila della Chora, chiusa al traffico, alla grazia dei suoi abitanti, al profumo del pane fresco.
