Not far from the main town of Kos, but far enough from the hustle and bustle, stands our small settlement. We like the idea of having guests from all over the planet! hoping to exchange travel experiences and meet positive people. our family produses olive oil for the year, that we like shareing with guests - friends.
Our estate, is home to 70 olive trees, apricot, lemon, fig, mandarin and pomegranate trees. Always keeping ourselves busy, but we like to take some breaks to enjoy our guests.
In the wider area between the fields, there is rich bush vegetation, with intense aromas of thyme and sage. You can follow goat paths which reach deep into the ravines, with old watermills and water sources that few people know of. interesting for spring and winter visitors that like to hike! you can also listen to the birds, the sheep and the river from where we stay, or bird watch from the highest terrace of the main building. Best sunset point... And just a walk away, ancient greek history is hiding behind the trees. <>, our heritage.
Hippocratis, born around the year 460 BC, received his medical training and practic in the temples of Asklipeion. he was named the “father of medicine” and till today, his oath is taken by doctors all around the world. his therapeutic approach was based on the healing power of nature. His medicine was based on trust and respect to nature.
In the property we have, the main building divided into 10 apartments, and the small <> in the back garden. they are in constant evolution... a shelter for many old furniture found from the past and around the island. it makes us happy when we find use for old stuff. the esthetics of the homes are made with a nostalgic mood, inspired by the past life style of the island and the colors around us.
We are 50 meters above sea level, overlooking the dense forest of Asklepeion, and farmlands around. we watch the sun rise or the moon rise. we go nearby to Platani village and have turkish dinners. To the northeast, we see the Aegean and our neibour contry Turkey, close enough to reach by swimming. From spring to autumn, boats depart to the Turkish coast daily. In less than1 hour, you can find yourself in another continent!
Another favorite hang out to the north west, is a long sandy beach, a small cozy taverna that serves fresh fish every day and sunset gazing!
Renting a motorbike is the best way to explore the island during summer, and a car in the winter, but cycling is also an alternative, and kos is known for attracting professional cyclers. we have a big list of stunning beaches and small villages. bus transportation is more frequent during july and august.
Distances from our piont:
to main town 5 km.
to bus stop 0,8 km.
to sandy beaches 3 km.
to local market (Platani village) 3 km.
to super market 0,8 km.
to turkish restaurants 3 km.
