In the lovely little town of Mareuil-sur-Belle, in South West France, a couple of ex-pat brits, John Bailey and his daughter Josephine Bailey, are trying with all their might to open an English pub.
Almost called "The Battle of A Britain", "The Royal Oak" pub will officially open it's doors on the January, 25th 2012.
Themed nights will be a regular event, fancy dress optionnal. Ladies nights will also be a part of our week, and we will serve lower priced drinks to the designated driver to help stop drunk-driving.
We currently have a bed and breakfast available for 30€ per person per night with riverview rooms. We also have a wheelchair friendly ground floor bedroom. A continental breakfast (croissants, pains au chocolat, coffee, tea, warm and cold milk, drinking chocolate) is served at from 7:30am to 10am.
When the restaurant opens, we plan on using local produce as much as possible. We shall serve traditional French cuisine as well as heart-warming English dishes.
