Saltel Expandable Steel Patches (SES Patches)
We manufacture and install expandable steel tubulars for production optimization (water, gas and sand shutoff, modifying injection profiles), well maintenance and repair (casing & tubing repair, parted casings, screen repair), new well applications (frac ports, DV Tool and sliding sleeves repair), and enhanced oil recovery (SAGD & CSS: High temperature applications).
The setting procedures for SES Patches are very different from those used with other expandable systems. Our stainless steel sleeve is not pushed out to a pre-determined diameter by a cone, but is set using an inflatable element which will ensure the patch is expanded until it seals effectively against the inside of the existing casing, irrespective of the precise casing ID. SES Patches are expanded in situ using a high pressure inflatable packer. Once the setting tools are extracted, a pressure resistant inner lining is left inside the well, leaving large internal diameter access to the well below for most standard tools.


Saltel Expandable Steel Packers (SES Packers)
We manufacture and supply expandable steel open hole packers, to make a metal barrier between casing and borehole. These can be used for Shale fracturing, Multi-stage cementing, and numerous zonal isolation applications. SES Packers are slid onto the completion casing and sealed by welding or crimping. The application of hydraulic pressure in the completion casing expands the packer's metallic sleeves. The plastic deformation of the steel sleeves creates a solid and permanent annular well barrier whose sealing efficiency is ensured by a thin layer of HNBR (swelling and non-swelling). Our packers are reliable, simple and cost effective. They guarantee an effective sealing even in irregular boreholes (Certified ISO 14310, to 10,000 or 15,000 psi), avoid thermal contraction when colder fluids are injected, and allow controlling the pressure applied to the formation, during the setting process.
