Hello, I'm Liz Brown - copy-editor and proofreader,

My clients’ writing is my priority. As an experienced, professional copy-editor and proofreader I will eliminate errors, ensure consistency and polish prose. Friendly, approachable and supportive, I go the extra mile to ensure clients are happy with their proofreading or copy-editing. I genuinely want my clients to succeed – in their studies, career, or with their business.

Following a thirty year business career, I developed my love of languages and passion for words by training to become a copy-editor and proofreader. I specialise in working with students, independent academics, and businesses, worldwide, for whom English is a second language, helping them to polish and perfect their written English.

I have a degree in Law, professional post-graduate qualifications in insurance and have been trained to exacting industry standards with the Publishing Training Company. I’m also an intermediate member of the Society of Editors and Proofreaders.

Any type of document – from a blog post to a book; I am happy to proofread and copy-edit any subject. My speciality is Law and business. As a native English speaker, I will ensure that your work flows naturally and reads like native English. I learnt French as an adult, so I fully understand the difficulties of written communication in a second language.

Checking over 1.5 million words a year, I proofread and copy-edit all types of business and academic documents, including academic essays, dissertations and theses, business reports, letters, newsletters, blog posts, websites, educational materials, CVs, personal statements and non-fiction books. I have considerable experience of proofreading and editing academic work, including referencing to all the usual standards.

I’m based in the beautiful Limousin region of France, but please don’t be put off by this. In this digital age location is not an issue, and I work for clients all around the world.
