Villa Lakeside view is a detached family villa based across two floor. Modern, well equipped and with all modern appliances. TV with French, German and some UK channels.

Equally popular with families and groups, this villa will sleep 8 adults in comfort.

Living accommodation

Open plan living with a kitchen area separate by a breakfast bar. French windows along the length of the room allow access onto a covered terrace with views over the lake and to the swimming pool beyond

The kitchen is well equipped with hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, combi oven/microwave and coffeemaker.

A tiled dining table and 6 chairs allow for dining inside or, if you prefer, with a second table and chairs outside on the terrace eating alfresco.

The living room has a comfortable settee and easy chairs. a widescreen TV with English, French and German channels, DVD player, books and games. The living room also contains leaflets, maps and brochures on activities and excursions available locally.

Bedrooms

Downstairs are 2 bedrooms separated by a family bathroom with twin sinks and a bath with shower head over plus a separate wc. The first bedroom contains a queen size double bed (160cms x 2m). The second contains two twin beds which can be pushed together and made up as a double if required.

Upstairs is a second double bedroom with another queen size bed (160cms x 2m) plus an en suite shower room and wc. This configuration makes the villa particularly popular with families travelling with grown up children or grand parents) or 2 separate groups who require the privacy of separate sleeping (and bathing) accommodation

The two downstairs bedroom and bathroom can be accessed without the need to climb the stairs which may make this villa suitable for anyone with reduced mobility. Please ask for more details.

All bedrooms are shuttered for security and to reduce the heat during warmer days (and nights!). The bedrooms have ceiling or desk fans for the summer and electric radiators for the cooler winter months.

A cot can be provided for families with very small children.

Villa lakeside view is a detached villa with garden to sides and front. Outside is a garage with sufficient space for a second car to park in front. A selection of relaxing chairs and sunbeds are provided to maximise the Mediterranean sunshine. A BBQ is also available.

There is a Mediterranean garden on three sides of the house with stunning views over the lake. The lake is stocked with fish and various species of birds are regular visitors including ducks (with babies in the spring!) moorhens, and a heron.

Just a short walk away is the communal swimming pool (heated between May and the end of September) with an area especially for the little ones. The Domain also has a communal seating area, boules court and a table tennis table. A sauna and fitness room are available (subject to availability) and the lovely St Thomas golf course and country club is only a short walk away.

How to get there

10 minutes from the junction of the A9/A75 motorways, 20 minutes from
Beziers airport with flights from the UK and northern Europe. Beziers
railway station is serviced by the TGV.

Other nearby airports with flights from the UK/Ireland include Montpellier (40 mins), Carcassonne (1hr), Perpignan (1hr) and Nimes (1½hr)., Toulouse (2hr), Girona (2hrs), Barcelona (2½hr)

A car is recommended as the Domain du Lac is situated in the countryside.

The local area

Nestled amongst vineyards and rolling countryside yet only a short drive from a vast range of holiday activities which are available nearby.

The sandy beaches and azure blue seas of the Mediterranean are 25 kms away. There is a wide choice of beach resorts nearby including Cap d'Agde, Serignan Plage, Valras Plage and Marseillan Plage. Whether you prefer busy beaches with bars, restaurants and nightlife, family orientated beaches with good facilities or just the peace and quiet of a unspoilt sandy corner in a nature reserve, there is a beach option for you.

Beziers which is the nearest large town. It has a large tree lined boulevard at its centre with bars and restaurants that spill out on to the streets during the summer months. Regular markets occur on the square (with the Friday flower market being the most popular). Just a short walk away is the magnificent cathedral with incredible views over the surrounding countryside. Beziers contains a range of interesting shops and boutiques, a theater, museums, parks and art galleries. There are many festivals throughout the year culminating in a grand summer 'feria' that includes music, theater, street spectacles and bull fighting. The center of the town is closed every evening for 4 days during August for the festivities.

Nearby is Pezenas which has become synonimous with Moliere and is a thriving center for artisans. A selection of delightful shops are dotted amongst the winding medieval streets in the heart of the old town. Included are antiques, local produce, and art galleries. There are also bars and restaurant many with outside tables for that necessary rest and rejuvenating drink. The Saturday market is a must for anyone who enjoys browsing.

The delightful waterside village of Agde is only around a 30 minutes drive with its beautiful painted village houses, winding streets, fascinating shops, superb restaurants and traditional markets. Buy some of the best fresh fish in the Languedoc from Agde and, if an early riser, it is possible to buy directly from the returning fishing boats.

30 minutes drive away are the Cevennes and the Minervois. Hills and mountains with Cathar village such as Minerve which sits astride deep gorges. Also microclimates such as Roquebrun "the little Nice of Languedoc" wih its Mediterranean gardens and canoeing on the river Orb. The area has an incredible history to explore with castles and abbeys. Valmagne for example with its magnificent wine. The medieval walled city of Carcassonne is only an hour away or a little further is Nimes with its Roman amphitheatre which is still used for outside concerts during the summer months

The countyside surrounding Domaine du Lac is awash with vineyards. Langudeoc Roussillon is one of the largest wine producing regions in France. Take advantage of the wonderful choice of visits and tasting opportunities on your doorstep. Appellations include St Chinian, Minervois and Faugueres.
