Kergudon: Gîtes et Chambres d'Hôtes 3.04

Welcome to Kergudon Gites et Chambres d'Hotes. In a place of peace and serenity, a presbytery was built in 1640 to provide accommodation for the clergy overseeing the construction of the church, and act as a rest stop for travellers and pilgrims. As the priest was allowed to keep doves, a privilege afforded only to the aristocracy and church, a dovecot was constructed in the south gable of the building which can be seen today. This has given it its name of Ker (‘home’ in the Breton language) and Gudon (‘dove’).

Over the next century stables and other buildings were constructed to support the occupants (the building we use as a gym being dated 1663) which have now been converted to provide self-catering holiday accommodation in this beautiful part of rural France.

Situated in the natural park of Armorique in the département of Finistère, as the name implies it feels like the end of the earth within the region of Brittany. Surrounded by forests and woodland walks Kergudon Gîtes & Chambres d’Hotes is within easy reach of lakes, coastline, beaches, villages and market towns which offer a wide range of activities for all our guests.

We bought the property at the very end of 2014 and are continuing to develop the cottages and Chambres d’Hotes to provide luxurious holiday accommodation for present-day travellers wanting rest and relaxation in comfortable gîtes which offer modern conveniences, home comforts and practicalities of the 21st century while retaining their French charm.

We have 4 separate gîtes, ranging from 1 bed (2 person) to 3 bed (6 person plus), which can be booked either individually or as a whole to accommodate larger groups or family for events and celebrations year round. Three of our gîtes are equipped to provide full self-catering accommodation while one, Stable, is best suited for Chambres d’Hôtes / bed and breakfast – however, those staying in any of our gîtes, self-catering or not, can take advantage of our B&B menu!
