Minutes off the N10, between Poitiers and Bordeaux, the comic book capital and ancient city of Angoulême is the gateway to the Perigord, the Dordogne and the French Atlantic coast. Just outside Angoulême, Domaine de Montboulard is lost in the middle of the woods and invisible from the road. This farm of the fifteenth century is fortified with high walls and watchtower. It is a haven of peace just five kilometers from downtown Angoulême. It is a base for exploring the thriving city and its restaurants, locals vineyards, castles, Roman ruins, historic harbors and the beautiful New Aquitaine countryside.

At Montboulard, you can enjoy the comfort that the estate offers in its guest rooms, lodges and reception hall. Each gite at Montboulard features a country style that is both practical and relaxing. Gites feature modern kitchens that include dishwashers, microwaves, ovens and cooktops, cooking supplies and dinnerware. Gites feature two or three bedrooms, with contemporary linens and duvets. Each bath has a shower and towels for guests. Finally, gites feature private walled patios that have barbeque grills, dining tables and chairs.
