Situated in the quiet village of Louzac surrounded by vineyards, close to the world famous town of Cognac and 1 hour from the Atlantic coast our charming Chambres D’Hotes offers the ideal location to discover the beautiful Charente, Charente-Maritime area of France.
Demeure du Chapitre is a large “Maison Charentaise“. The beautifully renovated former stable retains many original features and provides spacious guest accommodation with independent access comprising four bedrooms, two with en-suite bathrooms and toilets and two bedrooms forming a suite with a private bathroom and toilet.
Guests can relax in the bright, south facing communal lounge/ dining area with large patio doors providing access to the garden and private parking. The ground floor also includes an adjoining kitchen with tea and coffee making facilities and a cloakroom.
In addition to the continental breakfast included in the room price, we also offer evening meals twice a week by reservation.
With the capacity to sleep up to ten people Demeure du Chapitre is ideal for family reunions, cycling and walking groups, motorcycle or classic car enthusiasts, etc.

As avid Francophiles and after spending many years taking their summer and winter holidays in this wonderful country, Ann and Chris decided to come and live permanently in France. In 2011 they were able to realise their dream and moved to the Auvergne region in the Massif Central. During the following five years, they created and ran a successful Chambres D’hotes and immersed themselves in French life. They are keen motorcyclists and enjoy touring and discovering different regions of France on two wheels.
In 2016, they decided to take on a new adventure and set off to explore pastures new. They immediately fell in love with the Charente and decided to re-locate and develop a new Chambres d’hotes in the heart of “Cognac country”. They look forward to welcoming you to this idyllic region.
Ann and Chris offer a friendly service reflecting the spirit of “Chambres D’Hotes”. Their aim is to be on hand to answer any queries that you may have without being intrusive and they are always happy to help with any information about the area or suggestions for places to visit and things to do so that you can enjoy your stay to the full.
