Chateau Marconne was built in the 1890s as a gift from the mayor of Hesdin to his son, an artist. It was in the family until the 1950s, when it was gifted to the commune by the last descendant. It became a school, then a hospitality college. It was abandoned in 2000 and left in disuse until 2002 when it was bought by the present owner. A program of restoration was started over a number of years and Chateau Marconne opened its doors to holiday makers in 2008. The renovations continue - it's like the Forth Bridge!!

The bulk of the chateau is made over to accommodate up to ten people in five en-suite bedrooms. The magnificent main hall and library rooms feature as the principle receptions. There is a games room with pool table, a laundry and a downstairs cloakroom.

Over the winter of 2015/16, the kitchen was refurbished - you can find the pictures here on the page!

As well as the main house, there is a sweet apartment for two. This features entry by the grand main entrance, a dining area that opens out onto the balcony overlooking the park (west facing, perfect for evening dining!), a huge sitting room, kitchen and ensuite bedroom. The ensuite was refurbished in 2015.

The chateau is ten minutes walk from the town centre of Hesdin with its popular Thursday market, interesting history and great bars and restaurants. The surrounding area is very pretty and the coast is just 30 minutes away.

Chateau Marconne is ideally placed for cycling, walking, history (Agincourt is 20 minutes away), war graves and memorials, the coast and gastronomy.
