Objectiu i inicitiva (Català)

La idea del Mitjó es va crear amb l'objectiu de reutilizació principalment de roba i de mobles de segona mà per falta de recursos a Barcelona per reciclar, reutilitzar i comprar roba i mobles de segona mà. Cada dia hi ha grans quantitats de roba, mobles i objectes llençats directament als contenidors de rebuig quan normalment són encara utilitzables o nous. Cada dia quan passo pel carrer, veig coses útils llençades, veig el valor d'aquests objectes, i la pena de no poder agafar-ho tot i reutilitzar-ho. Amb La botiga del Mitjó Desaparellat serà possible la reutilització d'aquests objectes.

Botiga
Roba i complements: La majoria de la roba que vendrem serà una sel·lecció de roba i mobles de segona mà de bona qualitat. Hi haurà peces redisenyades i remodelades com devantals de cuina, coixins, bosses, etc.

Taller de mobles
Objectiu i projectes: Redissenyarem els mobles i complement antics/vells/gastats i també crearem peces noves des del disseny fins als acabats. Formarem grups de treball on ensenyarem a retocar i redissenyar mobles i complements. Els alumnes tindràn accés a un espai de treball, supervisat per un professor/a amb experiència i podràn comprar el materials que necessitin. Quan no hi hagi classes la gent podrà portar els seus mobles per restaurar i tindràn accés al taller per una petita mensualitat. Fora del horari dels tallers el espai i les eines estaràn disponibles per un preu molt raonable per tothom.


Taller de cosir
Objectiu i projectes: La gent podrà aprendre a fer servir una màquina de cosir, i com fer i dissenyar coses amb la reutilització de teles i de roba antiga. Els ensenyarem les tècniques de cosir i els ajudarem a desenvolupar un pensament més creatiu i sostenible amb la reutilització dels materials i la roba. Fora de l'horari dels tallers, l'espai i les eines de treball estaran disponibles a un preu molt raonable per tothom.


Espai i Altres activitats:
El local té 160m2 amb un pati interior i dues plantes. A la planta baixa hi ha tres espais diferents, la botiga, amb roba, mobles i altres objectes per vendre, el taller de restauració de mobles i al pati hi haurà la possibilitat de fer moltes coses creatives, com ceràmica i restauració de mobles. Hi haurà la possibilitat d'exposar obres d'art, quadres, pintures, escultures, etc, per ajudar a nous artistes a la part de la botiga.
A la segona planta hi haurà tallers de costura, amb màquines de cosir on també farem tallers creatius de bijuteria.

Objetivo e iniciativa (Español)
La idea del Mitjó se creó con el objetivo de reutilizar principalmente ropa y muebles de segunda mano, con el afán de reeducar en temas de reciclaje, motivados por la escasa oferta de este tipo de establecimientos en Barcelona y contribuyendo de este modo a mantener un medio ambiente más sostenible. Cada día podemos encontrar ropa, muebles y otros objetos tirados en los contenedores de deshecho, la mayoría de estos objetos tan sólo necesitan un pequeño retoque para volver a lucir como nuevos. En la tienda El Mitjó Desaparellat será posible darles esta segunda oportunidad, incluso antes de acabar en el contenedor.


Tienda
Ropa, muebles y complementos: Se seleccionarán las ropas, muebles y complementos de segunda mano, que sean de buena calidad. El resto servirán para reciclarlos en otros objetos o reutilizándolos para otros fines: delantales de cocina, cojines, cajas de madera para reciclarlas como estanterías y mesitas. También se rediseñaran piezas o crearan nuevas teniendo como base los materiales de segunda mano.

Taller de muebles
Restauraremos los muebles con distintos acabados, también se crearán piezas nuevas desde el diseño hasta el acabado teniendo como base muebles de segunda mano que no pueden restaurarse, por estar muy deteriorados, pero sí pueden servir para crear otro mueble u objeto. Se formarán grupos de trabajo donde se enseñará las técnicas necesarias para aprender a hacerlo. Los alumnos tendrán acceso al espacio de trabajo, siendo supervisados por un profesor/a con experiencia y podrán comprar los materiales en la tienda si lo desean o bien traer sus propios materiales. Fuera del horario de cursos se podrá alquilar el espacio del taller por una mensualidad asequible, para poder trabajar en sus muebles, en este caso no habrá asesoramiento del profesor/a.

Taller de costura
Se formarán grupos de trabajo para aprender a usar una máquina de coser, cómo hacer o rediseñar piezas reutilizando telas y ropas de segunda mano, técnicas de costura, todo con el asesoramiento de un profesor/a experimentado. Fuera de los horarios de talleres se podrá alquilar el espacio por una mensualidad asequible pudiéndose usar las máquinas de coser sin el asesoramiento del profesor/a.

Talleres de manualidades
Se formarán grupos de trabajo para aprender técnicas de reciclaje convirtiendo objetos en desuso como ropa, botones, cremalleras, madera, hierros; en bisutería, y piezas de arte para cerámicas u otras técnicas artísticas (reciclaje creativo). Estos talleres serán impartidos por profesores/ras con experiencia y podrán ser trimestrales o monográficos.


Espacio y otras actividades:
El local tiene 160m2 con un patio interior y dispone de dos plantas. En la planta baja se encontrarán tres espacios distintos, la tienda, con la ropa, muebles y otros objetos para vender, el taller de restauración de muebles y el patio donde se podrán realizar varias técnicas creativas, cerámica, restauración de muebles y todas las manualidades que requieran un espacio que se pueda ensuciar. En esta planta también se expondrán obras de arte, cuadros, esculturas y fotografías para ayudar a artistas noveles a poder exponer sus creaciones.
En la segunda planta se impartirán los talleres de costura con máquinas de coser y los de bisutería de reciclaje.



Objective and Initiative (English)
The idea of The Odd Sock was created with the aim of reusing mainly second hand clothes and second-hand furniture , in an effort to re-educate on recycling issues, motivated by the limited supply of such stores or spaces in Barcelona and thus contributing to maintaining a means sustainable environment . Every day on the streets clothes , furniture and other objects are left in or next to the waste containers , most of these objects are perfectly reusable or new or it just need a little touch up to look like new again . The Odd Sock’s aim is to give these abandoned items a second chance or even before ending up in the bin.

The Boutique

The Boutique has a selected range of second –hand clothing, redesigned and restored furniture and accessories , and other household decorative and useful objects . The rest of our materials which we do not consider good enough to re-sell will be recycled for other purposes in our sewing , jewelry making , craft and recycle workshops. Turning them into useful objects again by reusing and redesigning them and giving them a second life.

Furniture Workshop
The Furniture Restoration Workshops are designed to encourage people to reuse and redesign their furniture or second hand furniture in general. In these workshops we teach students various techniques of treating furniture. We teach different finishes, how to strip furniture, woodworm treatment and also how to create new designs from second-hand furniture that can not be restoredor are no longer needed. These workshops are held in groups where students will learn these skills guided by an experienced teacher. Students are able to purchase the materials at the store or bring their own materials.
Outside the workshop schedules the space is available for clients at an affordable hourly rate. This includes use of space, but without professional supervision, and storing their materials at site.

Sewing Workshop
The Sewing Workshops consist of various workshops which are held in groups. Basic sewing where groups are formed to learn how to use a sewing machine through making and designing simple pieces such as cushions, cushion covers, bags and aprons or taking up the hem and simple mending. Intermediate sewing workshops are designed to create more complex items such as making patters for clothes and the techniques of sewing them, such as skirts, shirts or even costumes for adults or children. There is also a ‘Redesigning Your Clothes’ workshop for more advanced sewers. Our objective is to reuse second-hand clothes and fabrics however new fabrics and materials can also be used and may be necessary. All sewing workshops are guided by an experienced teacher.
Outside the workshop schedules the sewing gallery is available for clients at an affordable hourly rate. This includes use of space, sewing machines and irons but without professional supervision.

Craft Workshops
We offer two branches of the Craft Workshops. One which will be more focused on RECYCLED JEWELRY making and the other which involve creating RECYCLED ART, through BASIC SCULPTURE . These workshops are held in groups to learn different techniques of recycling obsolete objects like clothing, buttons, zippers , wood, iron and turning them into jewelry or decorative art pieces.

Space and other activities:
The Odd Sock has 160m2 with high ceiling and a courtyard and in the rear part of the boutique there are two separate floors for the workshops. The downstairs has three different spaces, the boutique, and the restoration workshop with our courtyard which is the designated space that can get dirty. The second floor is The Sewing Gallery where the sewing and craft workshops will be held equipped with sewing machines, irons and large tables.
