Subsea Mechatronics 1.8

SSM was created in 2014, after the partners met working in different project related to marine technologies in 2011. During 2012 and 2013, the 3 partners of the company shared their participation with different status within the AVORA project; the AUV team of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria that competed then at the SAUC-E international AUV challenge at CMRE in La Spezia, Italy. In 2013, we started to work together in RetroROV, a nationally funded CDTI R&D project awarded to TEMS SL, in order to develop the remote control for a terrestrial backhoe to work underwater. Currently we have different customers and we are open to new challenges and collaborations related to our expertise areas focused on R&D.

We gather engineers ranging from electronics, mechanical, software and fabrication, both with PhD and Masters degrees. Besides, we have an international set of partners from industry, academia and governmental institutions, that allows us to face and develop challenging projects in the field of robotics and mechatronics.
