Our studies will be centered in the most Romanesque city in Europe, the city of Zamora, Spain. Students will strengthen their Spanish-speaking language skills, explore culture through folklore, traditional music and learn about Spain from prehistory through medieval times and into the Modern era. There are 2 separate programs offered both include: homestays with a local family, a language partner to practice Spanish and learn about culture and travel throughout Castilla y León to historical and cultural sites such as Salamanca, León, Segovia just to name a few.

The first program "Castilla y León: Language & Culture" includes 3 separate classes for a total of 12 credits and is 6 weeks in length:
• Language & Grammar
• Peninsular history, culture and society
• Castilian musical folklore
*Cost of program is $5300 based on enrollment of 8 students.

The 2nd program "International Capstone: Spain,Society & Culture is a 6 credit (4 weeks long) Service Learning course that is designed to provide an opportunity to learn about Spanish culture and society by means of immersion with a partner social service based organization (also non profit) in the province of Zamora, in the region of Castilla y León, Spain. Students learn about Spanish culture as they work in teams to help lead organized and established activities. By doing so, they will also gain awareness of the special needs of marginalized citizens, specifically at risk youths (13-17yrs) with limited resources and education. They will acquire the knowledge and the skills necessary to engage fully with the participants and collaborate with the service site in order to better existing programs and help create new activities as directed by the community partner.

This is a PSU Senior Capstone course but students from other universities are welcome to enroll.
