Our most popular excursion follows the old train route from Villalonga through the spectacular valley alongside the River Serpis; passing through the old tunnels we keep a look out for herons, egrets, eagles, trout and maybe the local goatherds. We explain the history and points of interest along the route. There are plenty of opportunities to jump out and grab those photos of the spectacular views and even paddle in Serpis if that’s your fancy. We then head for Beniarres Hydroelectric Dam to catch a glimpse of the large carp and wild terrapins basking. Next it’s off to the sleepy village of Lorxa and the opportunity to dine in one of the traditional local bars or - if you prefer - enjoy a picnic in the open air. Once our leisurely lunch is over, it’s back aboard the Landy returning via the high road to our start point, enjoying the spectacular views from the top of the mountain ridge.
