SUMMARY OF RESEARCH LINES:
The goal of our research activity is to increase the efficiency of grapevine by using integrated management strategies of pests and diseases to avoid the environmental damage and economic losses that they cause.

The research lines carried out by the BIOVITIS group are related to:

Biology, epidemiology and control of fungal pathogens associated with grapevine trunk diseases (GTDs), with emphasis on i) the identification and characterization of fungal pathogens associated with GTDs by using conventional and molecular approaches, ii) the genetic diversity and population structure of GTD pathogens, iii) the development of integrated management strategies of GTDs in grapevine nurseries, including physical treatments and biological agents, and iv) the development of rapid and reliable methodology to identify sources of resistance to GTD pathogens.

Development of integrated management strategies of powdery mildew and GTDs in established vineyards.

The study of management strategies of Eotetranychus carpini in organic viticulture and their effect in non-target organisms.
