Victoria College Science & Engineering Fair 3.42

VCSEF is organized by The Loyal Victorians Association and The VC Student's Council in collaboration with The Planetarium Science Center (PSC) and IEEE AlexSB. VCSEF is a qualifier to Intel BASEF, a local competition held at The PSC, which is in turn a qualifier to Intel ISEF which takes place annually at the U.S.A.

The first VCSEF took place on the 27th and 28th of December, 2011. But working on the project started way back on the 20th of October of the same year. Work started as of day one. At the beginning, most of the efforts were directed towards getting the students interested about what a science fair and science projects are truly about, how to conduct a scientific research and record observations and reach results, also how to write research papers and organized their display boards, but most importantly how to balance their school work and duties with working on their projects for the fair.
In order to maximize the provided assistance a number of awareness sessions were held to give the participants some necessary insights on: thinking outside the box techniques, time management, presentation skills and maintaining and triggering creativity. Also, Ex-BASEF participants shared their experience.
Participation rates exceeded expectations, enthusiasm and interest brought them to the front rows of the early sessions and meetings.
