The Greek 4.19

The Greek is a product of the dreams and aspiration of two friends who wanted to create something different yet familiar. With an array of experiences and influences collected along the way of their trundles through life, both came back to reroot in their childhood home of Maadi.

In a city booming with characterless chains and bland interpretations of foreign palates, weekend cooking sessions to return the social essence and the lip smacking joy back into a meal became an increasingly popular pastime. It is on these weekend nights surrounded by friends and an air infused with herbs and spices, that the concept for The Greek took shape.

Tucked away down leafy 231 st, the perfect little space was discovered. Armed with various toolboxes, paintbrushes, gypsum boards, planks of wood, an excessive amount of coffee and an army of fantastic friends, we settled into making this evening conversation a reality.

The Greek slowly took shape over the summer months, and finally the little sanctuary of whitewashed brick, splashes of cobalt blue, appetizing smells and many tasty nibbles (we had to make sure it was perfect before we served it!!) - our new home. To all our friends who helped us along the way, you are wonderful we can't thank you enough, and please keep visiting!
