The Research Institute for a Sustainable Environment (RISE) of the American University in Cairo runs a Kids' Environmental Education Program (KEEP) throughout the year for kids aged 6 to 12.

Our programs range from one day field days in the AUC's New Cairo campus gardens through Saturday programs to intensive courses of up to a week's length. All these courses are hands-on, interactive programs that cover the following topics:
ecosystems and environment
soils types and soil formation
water and water management
waste management and recycling
energy and global warming
nutrition and how to prepare a healthy meal
