CHAIRMAN 2015/2016
Elizabeth Malcom (IVSA SAVMA)

WHAT IS SCoH?

The Standing Committee on One Health (SCOH) is a committee of the International Veterinary Students’ Association (IVSA). SCOH was founded in the 62nd IVSA Congress “The Netherlands” in Utrecht in August 2013. The task of SCOH is to inform students about the One Health initiative and to stimulate them to contribute to this internationally.

THE STRUCTURE OF SCOH

The SCOH consists of the chairman, the members and the affiliate members. In the same time SCOH would like to stimulate local member organizations to implement a “Local Veterinary Public Health Officer” which is connected to the committee.
Specifically:

THE MEMBERS OF SCOH
The chairman's role is to coordinate all SCOH members and Local Officers.
The members of SCOH is the team which commands the SCOH and discusses for new projects, decides democratically for the plan and have responsibilities for the SCOH projects. More specifically, the committee consists of limited number of people from all over IVSA member organizations, who will be chosen based on criteria.

THE AFFILIATE MEMBERS OF SCOH
The affiliate members of SCOH, are the external representatives on public health from other Health Sciences Students’ Associations (ie. IFMSA, IPSF etc.)

THE LOCAL VETERINARY PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICERS (LoVPHOs)
The local coordinators, called Local Veterinary Public Health Officers (Lo-VPHO), are the local officers on veterinary public health who are members of the local member organization and are recommended from the local IVSA President and Board. They keep in touch with SCOH and they materialize the global public health projects.
