Biografien sind nicht nur Lebensgeschichten von Menschen. Biografien sind immer auch Geschichten der Epochen, der kulturellen Einflüsse und der besonderen Bedingungen menschlicher Lebensführung. Memoire Projects gGmbH archiviert und dokumentiert das biografische Wissen unserer Zeit. Als gemeinnütziges Unternehmen realisieren wir unterschiedliche Projekte, um dieses besondere Wissen möglichst vielfältig und allgemeinverständlich zugänglich zu machen. Im Mittelpunkt unserer Arbeit stehen biografische Filminterviews, mit denen wir die „Gleichzeitigkeit des Ungleichzeitigen“, die durch das Zusammenleben der Generationen entsteht, einfangen und als Panorama darstellen wollen. In einzelnen Webdokumentationen zoomen wir Details des Panoramas jener biografischen Landschaft, die uns umgibt, nah heran.

Biographies are more than „just“ people’s life stories. They are at the same time histories of the epochs, the cultural influences and the particular conditions under which human beings live out their lives. Our enterprise – Memoire Projects gGmbH – is dedicated to archiving and documenting the biographical knowledge of our time. A nonprofit enterprise, Memoire Projects seeks out new and versatile ways through each project in order to make this special kind of knowledge accessible in easy-to-understand fashion. At the heart of our work we use simple biographical interviews to try to capture what has come to be called “the synchronicity of the asynchronous” that arises from different generations and their unique views and experiences living together in one society. We’re looking to depict this phenomenon as a panoramic view of the world we live in today. In turn then, singular innovative web documentaries serve as a means to zoom into this biographical scenery surrounding us and get an up-close look into the fabric of our relationships with history and each other.
