Professor in logistics raising the concern about saving whales in the Pacific? Your classmate from the front row sharing his experience as a hockey referee? Your colleague from accounting department inspiring you to try cosplay?

How often do we actually have the chance to publicly talk about something we are really passionate about?

Following the slogan “ideas worth spreading”, TED conference was the pioneer in encouraging people from all over the world to talk about something that inspires them. The conference served as prototype to many similar events, including Harvard Thinks Big, with Harvard’s own faculty members and students as speakers.

As a group of KLU students, we also thought that it would be great to learn more about the versatile personalities within our community. This is how we came up with the initiative to start off the tradition of KLU Thinks Big. The concept is simple: A stage, eager listeners and a few speakers delivering a short speech on topics they care most deeply about.

We really hope that the event will facilitate and encourage the KLU community to go beyond the scope of the educational programs, explore innovative ideas and be open to share them with others.
