Begin your day by meeting with your English speaking guide just inside your Cartagena Cruise Terminal. Then you will hop aboard your air-conditioned bus transport and head out on your excursion. You will drive around Manga Island which is dotted with homes built in the style of Republican architecture. Then you will head up Popa Hill to the highest point in Cartagena. You will visit Popa Monastery (ticket is included in your excursion fee). This convent was founded in 1607 as Convento de Nuestra Senora de la Candelaria. Know for the spectacular views, you will enjoy the 360-degree view of both the city and the bay below. See the image of La Virgen de la Candelaria, the patroness of the city, in the convent's chapel along with also the statue of Padre Alonso Garcia de Paredes.

Next a panoramic view of to San Felipe Fort, which has been designated a World Heritage Site. This historic fort is what helped to protect the city from invaders and pirates. At that time, the Spanish hid their plundered loot in Cartagena, but it was not a well-kept secret and the fort became a necessity to protect the city.

Then you'll head off to the Dungeons (also know as the Vaults or Bovedas) for some unique shopping. Originally built as vaults to store goods they were used as holding cells. The Dungeons now houses quaint shops and cafes. After your visit there, you'll begin a walking tour inside the Walled City. You'll see sites such as The Inquisition Palace, The Cathedral, and Saint Pedro Claver Church (entrance ticket is included in your excursion fee). Enjoy walking through colorful squares, on charming streets and past Colonial houses. View some of the famous bronze statues including the Reclining Lady and Old Boots. Bottled water is included on the transportation.

Finally, take a sightseeing tour around the new city and enjoy the sights on one of the most beautiful bays in America, Bahia de Cartagena. And last, but not least, you will have the chance to visit the lovely Emerald Museum, Joyeria Caribe Emerald Museum. Set up in 1983, it not only functions as a jewelry workshop with over 25 goldsmiths but also houses a large jewelry exhibition and some outstanding emeralds.

After this, you will be returned to your Cartagena cruise ship pier.
