Sexual Assault & Violence on campus is an issue that can no longer be ignored!

This does not include those who do not report sexual assault!

Did you know?

4/5 female undergrad students report victimization of violence and sexual assault on campus, and it is individuals aged 18-24 that experience the highest rates of sexual assault in Canada!

60% of Canadian college-aged males indicated that they would commit sexual assault if they were certain they would never be caught!

Less than 1/10th of sexual assaults are even reported to police!

The Bystander Initiative here at uvic is a project to get conversation started in and around campus with regards to sexual assault.

Our hope is that by bringing awareness to this issue, and by educating students to what the reality is that is going on around them, the word will spread.

Together we can make a communal shift away from sexual assault and violence, ending it for good!
