Dr. Jihad Abouali is a fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy. He earned both his Medical Degree and completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at McMaster University. He completed his Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Abouali is a member of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Toronto East General Hospital, and a Lecturer at the University of Toronto. He also holds memberships with The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, The Canadian Orthopaedic Association, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has been invited to present sports medicine research at numerous National and International conferences.
At the Toronto 2015 PanAm Games he was the lead medical physician for the Rugby Sevens event. He has consulted with many professional sports teams including the Toronto FC, Hamilton Tigercats, and is currently one of the team Orthopaedic Surgeons for the Toronto Argonauts.
His practice involves treating recreational, amateur and professional athletes with upper and lower extremity injuries, with a special interest in arthroscopic knee, hip and shoulder surgery.
