The One 93.1 FM - Leduc's Best Country 4.38

In October 2006, Blackgold Broadcasting started the research and began the process to compose and write the Formal Application to the CRTC to serve the City of Leduc and Leduc County with its first originating FM Radio station. After a 2 year waiting period on May 2nd, 2011, Blackgold Broadcasting re-filed a new application with a new technical brief with the CRTC.

The paperwork included a formal application form, a supplementary brief outlining our format, business plan and vision for the station, financial and corporate details and technical data which was also filed with Industry Canada for approval to operate on the FM frequency of the City of Leduc and Leduc County.

Here is the history and timelines:

November 2006 started research and began to compose the Formal Application
July 2007 we filed our original application to the CRTC.

June 2008, the CRTC held a Public Hearing in Edmonton to hear our application.
October 2008 our application was denied due to the problems with our Technical Brief.

April 2011 we filed our 2nd Application to the CRTC.

November 21st, 2011 CRTC Public Hearing – Gatineau, Quebec

February 22, 2012 – Received CRTC APPROVED for Leduc’s 1st FM Radio Service
