The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) is a voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancers. Since 1955, we have been a dynamic leading force focused on funding Canadian research and supporting patients as they go through their cancer journey.

Our mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. In 2015, we invested more than $7.3 million in research, programs and support services to improve the lives of Canadians affected by blood cancers. The funds invested provide:
• Life-saving blood cancer research to accelerate treatments, therapies and cures
• Free educational materials and events for patients and their families
• Local programs such as Family Support Groups and the First Connection Peer-to-Peer Support Program
• Comprehensive, personalized assistance through our Information Resource Center (IRC)
• Educational information sessions for healthcare professionals and non-patient groups

There will be more advancements in the next 20 years in cancer treatments than we have seen in the last 100 years combined. Our commitment to cutting-edge science has contributed to an unprecedented rise in survival rates for some people with blood cancers. The relative five-year survival rate for people with leukemia, for example, nearly quadrupled in the past 48 years. And Hodgkin lymphoma is now considered one of the most curable forms of cancer, thanks to radiation and chemotherapy.

We are incredibly grateful for the tremendous generosity and support of our donors, volunteers, partners, and participants of our major fundraising campaigns, including Light The Night, Team In Training, and School & Youth, in helping us save lives not someday, but today!
