Norde Bridal, formerly The Handmade Bride, is a 4-time award-winning bridal boutique located in Ottawa’s ByWard Market. We bring together a curated collection of wedding dresses and accessories created by Canadian designers. Our collections are full of design-focused, effortless gowns that are modern, elegant and have just enough personality.
We believe in the value of handmade, not only for the amazing flexibility of customizing our gowns but, more importantly, for the moral and ethical aspects. By choosing products that are handmade in an artists studio you can feel good about supporting livable wages, fair labour practices and employee safety.
Our entire collection is customizable, we work directly with our designers and have the ability to edit designs or create completely custom designs. We love to help our clients find the perfect silhouette, neckline and fabrics to create an heirloom wedding dress personalized just for them.
The store first opened in 2013 in a little shop in the New Edinburgh area of Ottawa as The Handmade Bride. In 2015, we moved to our current location in the ByWard Market. In July 2017, we changed our name to Norde Bridal. In our first 4 years of business we have evolved to meet the demands of our clients. We felt that we outgrew The Handmade Bride name and that it no longer represented us. Norde Bridal fits with our current image and clientele and reflects our dedication to Canadian and North American design as well as our own Canadian heritage and down-to-earth vibes.
