The Green Room 2.63

The Green Room is a DIY house located in west St Catharines. The goal of which is to promote local music, activism, and experiences through hosting shows, being an organisation space and anything anyone can think of it to be.

The Green Room is a promoter of ANTI-RACIST, ANTI-HOMOPHOBIC, ANTI-SEXIST, PRO-FEMINIST, and PRO CHOICE thought, action and ideologies through our space were forward thinking people and we encourage progressive ideals. In essence it is a safe space so no jerks allowed.

Some events may have an entrance fee however we do not believe that people should lose out on experiencing community because of lack of funds, as such no one will be turned away at the door due to lack of funds, please do not abuse this.

Requests for those using the space and concerts;

- The Green Room aims to be a safer space, as such, we have a zero tolerance policy for any hate speech, discrimination, or any actions or conversations which may make people uncomfortable or feel unsafe here. if you are caught doing this we will demand that you stop, if it persists will will make you leave and you will not be welcome back.

- A very important note is that due to Bi-laws all shows must be over before 11:00 PM and any continuation of events after this time is up to the digression of the hosts.

- This space is animal friendly, though we ask that folks leave their animal companions elsewhere for shows/events if they are able to (home/with friends), as the space is fairly small, and there are often many people around.

- If you are going to be drinking please use plastic or cans when possible but if you must drink out of glass please be extra considerate for broken glass in an around the house (specific drug and alcohol rules will be event based).

- Please respect anyone living in the space and the neighbourhood around us (if people get mad we stop hosting).

- If you are asked to leave for any reason please due so or the space wont be able to continue, further if you are asked to not come back please respect that (if you feel uncomfortable please let one of the people living here know and we will assist any way possible).

- If you are going to smoke (anything) please due so outside and use the ashtrays provided.

- When outside please respect the neighbourhood (no littering or being too loud)

- upstairs and downstairs are living spaces for those living in the house, as such please do not go upstairs or downstairs unless you are sleeping there for the night, there is a gender neutral bathroom available on the main floor.

- there is sleeping space available but we request that if you wish to sleep here you notify us before hand so we can make sure their is space.

Unfortunately the house is not currently wheel chair accessible, if accommodations can be made we will be happy to assist in any way possible. if you know how to make a house wheel chair accessible and want to help us due that please let us know.
