Tasty Acres is a certified organic farm, located 150 meter above Shuswap Lake, in the beautiful outskirts of Salmon Arm. Pim and Mary-Ann van Oeveren, who own and operate the farm both have degrees from Holland in horticulture. Pim’s specialisation is growing plants and landscaping, Mary-Ann’s is floral design.

Pim has owned and operated landscaping firms in the Lower Mainland and Alberta, and had a 27 acre nursery in Didsbury, Alberta. Mary-Ann has a teaching degree in fine arts and has specialised later-on in floral design. She has taught in many schools and colleges in the Lower Mainland and at the horticultural college in Olds, Alberta

Tasty Acres produces nursery stock for organic growers. Most of the plants are edible or fruit bearing. They grow common plant material, like raspberries , strawberries, red, white and black currants, but also many unusual or lesser know fruit bearing plant material, like Goose berry,Goji Berry, Boysen Berry, Aronia, and Haskap.

Next to the nursery they also have a u-pick farm. They grow cherries, apples, pears, black berries and plums. Since they do not overwater their fruit trees and don’t spray with chemicals, the fruit is quite a bit sweeter than regular grown fruit.

During the winter time their fieldwork is done, which gives them time to host classes in pruning and floral design, and to play an active role in promoting local organic produce through their involvement in The Food Action Coop in Salmon Arm.
