Sunny Education is a niche English language school focusing on the Chinese community. Individual students are catered to with specifically tailored programs based on the individual student’s goals, needs and learning style.

These goals can include, everyday language, business language and culture, studies in Canadian school or university, preparation for work or interview process, or passing IELTS for immigration, study, or work purposes.

The school is conveniently located in the heart of Chinatown on Fisgard Street in Victoria; next door to the only Chinese school in the city.

The owner and all administrative staff, as well as over 50% of the teachers speak Mandarin or Cantonese or both. All have either emigrated themselves to Canada or have had extensive experience of Chinese or other far Eastern Cultures, such as Japanese, Vietnamese and Korean.

It also means that non- or poor-English speaking parents, can discuss the needs and progress of their children both with administration and educational staff at the School knowing their own and their children’s challenges are well understood and can be catered to.

Sunny Education only hires only university-educated and practically-experienced teachers. They have to at least have a BS or BSC and many have Masters degrees. Additionally they are required to have a TESL, qualification focused on teaching non-English speakers English

This provides for an understanding of the specific cultural challenges that students from these Cultures face when studying English; living in Canada, working in Canad;, doing business in Canad; or dealing with understanding of Literature or professional written materials in English, which are often heavily culturally biased.
