Constructed in 1967 to mark Canada’s Centennial year, the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts is Toronto’s hub for diverse cultural and artistic programming. The Centre opened in 1969 and has been serving the Toronto downtown core in various capacities ever since. Since 2010, over 200 cultural, corporate and community groups have produced events at the Centre.

With two premier performance venues, the St. Lawrence Centre is home to a variety of resident companies, including Canadian Stage, Music Toronto, the Toronto Operetta Theatre, Opera in Concert, Hannaford Street Silver Band, and the Harold Green Jewish Theatre Company.

The Bluma Appel Theatre is an 868 seat space with classic proscenium stage, and is the home of Canadian Stage. The Jane Mallet Theatre is an intimate 500 seat space with a semi-circular thrust stage, perfect for musical or speakers events.

The St. Lawrence Centre offers a full complement of rehearsal and meeting spaces, as well as technical, catering, and event management services.
