The South Shore Regional School Board (SSRSB) was formed in August 2004, when the Province of Nova Scotia dissolved the Southwest Regional School Board and created two regional Boards - SSRSB and Tri-County Regional School Board. SSRSB is responsible for providing education to approximately 6269 students of Lunenburg and Queens counties, an area of 5250 square kilometres, with 27 schools.

The purpose of this Facebook page is for SSRSB staff, students, parents and the community to share information about education and school-related issues.

We encourage SSRSB staff, students, parents and the community to communicate with us and with each other via our Facebook page on issues related to our education system.

We value freedom of expression. However, we also expect that all users will remain courteous and respectful when posting on our Facebook page.

Our Facebook page is monitored by SSRSB staff. The SSRSB reserves the right to delete any post at any time when posts are inappropriate. Examples of inappropriate posts include: rude or negative comments, profanity, content of a sexual nature, harassment, discrimination and/or personal attacks of SSRSB staff, students, parents and community members, anything insulting, discriminatory or derogatory.

If a user violates these rules, we will remove the content and we may block that user from accessing our Facebook page. We may also report users to the authorities where appropriate according to the law. We do monitor the posts on this Facebook page; however, we are not responsible for user content and opinions.

We do not allow wall posts that promote products or services from outside our board.
