SkirtsAfire Festival 3.15

The 6th annual SkirtsAfire Festival will take place March 8-11, 2018.

Founded in 2012, SkirtsAfire is a 4 day multidisciplinary arts festival that empowers, develops, supports and showcases female artists. We create space for female artistic excellence to be cultivated, experienced and passed on. We are diverse and daring.

In conjunction with International Women’s Day, our festival runs each March at various venues in the heart of Alberta Avenue, an area that is reinventing itself as an Arts and Dining district in Edmonton. Leading up to and during the festival each year, we produce a MainStage play for a 10 day run. Programming includes Theatre, Poetry, Spoken Word, Design, Art, Dance, Music, Comedy, Yoga, Food & Drinks.

We are on the cusp of a small but mighty revolution that threatens to be huge. Women work hard! They make things happen. They also live and love fully, embracing life and creating life. In order for SkirtsAfire to take off we need to embrace this and work together as a community, touching women from all artistic disciplines, as well as mothers, leaders, philanthropists, workers and students. It is a grassroots fire and it will become a wildfire!
