Sapperton Station is located on an elevated portion of the Expo Line, a part of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. The station is located in eastern New Westminster and it is anticipated it will serve the redevelopment of the nearby Labatt Brewery site. It was constructed as part of the original Millennium Line project and opened in 2002. For its first 14 years, it was served exclusively by Millennium Line trains, but following a SkyTrain service reorganization in 2016, service through Sapperton was replaced by a branch of the Expo Line running between Waterfront and Production Way–University.LocationSapperton station is located along Brunette Avenue in the Sapperton area of New Westminster, above a Canadian Pacific right-of-way, on the shores of the Fraser River. It is connected to ground level by a walkway over Brunette Avenue that exits on Keary Street, across from the Royal Columbian Hospital.HistoryThe station was built in 2002 as part of the Millennium Line. Before the Millennium Line was complete, a short spur from Columbia station was opened in eastern New Westminster as a test track; this spur included the stations of Sapperton and Braid.
