Details

Since 1885, tens of thousands of men and women who have joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have passed through the gates at Regina's RCMP Academy, Depot Division – the only training academy for the Mounties in all of Canada. In order to don the iconic red serge, cadets from all over Canada spend months in training on the same grounds as their predecessors have for 135 years.

The RCMP Heritage Centre is appropriately located on RCMP Academy, Depot Division’s doorstep and is dedicated to telling the story of the RCMP.

Through interactive exhibits, audio tours, and programming; as well as driving tours and live events at Depot in the summer, visitors can experience the Force of yesterday and today. Two retired Musical Ride horses also participate in parades and ceremonies on the Parade Square.

From the earliest days of the North West Mounted Police and the March West in 1873, to the life of an RCMP cadet and the Force's current work in International Peace Operations the world over, the tradition lives here.
