The Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society is a registered non-profit society, charitable organization and United Way member agency that seeks to build a healthy and just society which values all cultures. PICS started as a volunteer based organization in 1987, and expanded to include several offices in Surrey and Vancouver to serve the multicultural community. The Vancouver office opened in April 1997.
The Government of British Columbia has contributed funding to office initiatives, which means they are available at no cost to our clients. In addition, with the help of the Ministry of Communities, Aboriginals and Women’s Services, PICS provides settlement and integration assistance to newcomers in the City of Vancouver and the City of Surrey.
