Photographer At Heart. 4.36

Shiree, (a) Photographer At Heart, is an artist, freelance photojournalist and a fine art photographer. Her interests lie in Land/Cityscapes, Bokeh and Street Photography. Traveling the world since she was eight years old, and living in six countries over the past seventeen years, Shiree attributes this odyssey in shaping her special interest in Food, Nature and Travel photography. Inspired by her repertoire of photographs, captured in her studio or on the field, she enjoys re-interpreting them on canvas using organic mixed media of watercolors, acrylics and water-based oil paints. She continues to develop her passion for photography, where it began on a more serious note during her time in Oxford, England, when she was a foreign student working on her Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Psychology. "Photography was a great escape from the books," she says, allowing her to embrace and nurture her eclectic creative personality.

Currently, she attends the New York Institute of Photography, where she develops her stylistic avant garde approach in capturing images, where her photographs tell stories. She enjoys shooting from her downtown Toronto studio and also travels to locations, globally. She is Outings & Events Chairperson for the Brampton Photo Group, and enjoys her time there with about 50 other photo enthusiasts, sharing in their mutual passion for taking pictures. She dabbles in Astrophotography, under the guidance of Drs. Ian Shelton and Tuba Koktay of the David Dunlap Observatory. Shiree is also a CAPA trained Judge for the Canadian Association of Photographic Art. Most recently, she has exhibited her work at the Brampton City Hall in Canada, and will do so again, this Fall.

She's a Nikon Girl! Shiree shoots full frame with her Nikon D800E and occasionally with the Sony Alpha series. Among her many lenses, her favorite glass is the newest addition to her collection, Nikkor's Fx telephoto zoom lens 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED VR and the Nikkor Micro AF-S VR 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED . Her favorite instrument for long exposures is Nikon's WR-T10 Wireless Remote Kit.
