Pathways to Success 2.1

The Pathways to Success pilot program was delivered in Prince Rupert in the fall of 2014 as a “proof of concept” and was made available to local First Nations members who were currently unemployed and seeking work. It took place over six weeks and provided a supportive environment with specialized curriculum, instruction, guidance, and coaching to help prepare candidates for success in their next stage of training or for entry level jobs in the existing workforce.

In 2014, BG Canada decided to fund the Pathways to Success program, making a $200,000 financial commitment. This was in direct response to feedback from First Nations leaders expressing the need within the community for basic skills that lead directly to employment.

On December 12th, 2014, the first cohort of Pathways to Success officially completed the program and, on December 18th, BG Canada hosted a Celebration of Completion event for all 14 participants.

Pathways to Success second cohort has begun in Terrace and Prince Rupert.

In September of 2016 CEDAR closed it's doors in Prince Rupert, but the services which were offered by William Gye, Job Developer, are now offered through the Friendship House, who houses William and will be there for any of your Employment related needs.
