Inauguré en 2006, OSHEAGA Festival Musique et Arts présenté par Virgin Mobile en collaboration avec Coors Light se distingue comme étant le plus important festival du genre en Amérique du Nord. Grande fête dédiée à la musique et aux arts visuels, OSHEAGA est un événement de style européen, avec ses nombreuses scènes extérieures. Le volet extérieur du festival se déroule au parc Jean-Drapeau de l’Île Sainte-Hélène, un oasis de tranquillité et de verdure en plein cœur de la ville. Le festival, qui attire des dizaines de milliers d'amateurs de musique provenant de partout dans le monde, se donne notamment comme objectif de faire découvrir des talents locaux et nationaux émergents, qui côtoient sur scène quelques-uns des plus grands noms de l’industrie. Ainsi, pendant plusieurs jours, plus de 100 groupes se succèdent sur scène ainsi qu’à travers la ville, dans l’ambiance festive que seule Montréal sait créer en plein été. Depuis ses débuts, le festival a vu passer des artistes comme Coldplay, The Killers, Iggy & The Stooges, Sonic Youth, The Roots, Rufus Wainwright, Arcade Fire, Eminem, Beck, Mumford and Sons, The Black Keys, Krendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Florence + The Machine, Radiohead et Red Hot Chilli Peppers. OSHEAGA, c’est aussi des spectacles et des expositions dans plusieurs salles à travers la ville, qui ont lieu dans les semaines précédant l'événement. La 12e edition aura lieu du 4 au 6 août 2017. Since 2006, the OSHEAGA Music and Arts festival presented by Virgin Mobile, in collaboration with Coors Light has established itself as the most important festival of its genre in North America. With its numerous outdoor stages located at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Montreal’s Saint Helen’s Island, OSHEAGA attracts 135 000 music lovers from around the world. A huge celebration dedicated to music and visual arts, OSHEAGA has given itself the objective of championing the discovery of local and national emerging talent offering them the opportunity to play alongside some of the biggest international artists in the business including: Coldplay, The Killers, Iggy & The Stooges, Sonic Youth, The Roots, Rufus Wainwright, Arcade Fire, Eminem, Beck, Mumford and Sons, The Black Keys, Krendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Florence + The Machine, Radiohead and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Over the course of several days, over 100 bands will take to the various stages at Parc Jean-Drapeau and across the city in the festive ambiance that only a Montreal summer can provide. OSHEAGA also holds a series of concerts and exhibitions in several locations around the city during the week leading up to the main event.
