medSask was established in 1974 by a pharmacy professor and was first known as Dial Access. It was then termed Saskatchewan Drug Information Services and in March 2013 became medSask. The goals of medSask:

For consumers:
• Provide Saskatchewan consumers with access to objective, accurate, current information on medication-related questions.
• Supplement, not replace, advice and information provided by physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals
• Help individuals with the SAFE and RATIONAL use of medication


For healthcare providers:
• Upon request, provide pharmacist and other healthcare providers access to objective, concise and unbiased information on drug and drug therapy, in a timely manner.
• Provide continuing education related to drug and drug therapy to healthcare professionals in the province
• We are here to support healthcare professionals and work with them with the best healthcare


medSask Mission Statement:
• Provide accurate evidence-based information about medications and medication therapy to the general public, healthcare providers and other stakeholders to support positive health outcomes in Saskatchewan
