+ THEREPEUTIC HORSEMANSHIP:
Therapeutic horsemanship was first introduced in the United States in the late 1960s. The approach utilizes instruction in horseback riding and horsemanship skills to assist children and adults with emotional, developmental, psychological, or physical disabilities. Research shows that participants can experience physical, emotional, and mental rewards as well as decreased anxiety. Participants with physical disabilities often show improvement in flexibility, balance, and muscle strength. The unique relationship formed between the rider and the horse can also lead to increased confidence, patience, and self-esteem in individuals with mental, emotional, or developmental disabilities.
Therapeutic riding is offered to children and adults with disabilities that include, but are not limited to:

cerebral palsy
spina bifida
multiple sclerosis
muscular dystrophy
head trauma
autism spectrum
emotional disturbance
developmental delays
learning disabilities
attention deficit disorder
hypotonia
hearing impairments
traumatic brain injury
spinal cord injury
visual impairments
+ OFFERED TO INDIVIDUALS AS WELL AS GROUPS
+ SELF REFERAL JUST LIKE ALL OF OUR PROGRAMING

+ EQUINE ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY:
Our Purpose is to assist individuals and groups to overcome barriers, to enhance communication and to influence positive changes. We believe that horses give our clients their wings and help heal brokenness thru their ability to discern body language and feelings. Horses help people get to a place that they cant get on their own or as efficiently or as effectively as talk therapy models based on 15 years of research. This research has proven that EAP is more effective in treating issues"resistant to treatment" such as anxiety, addictions, PTSD and ADHD than other therapeutic models . Horses have incredible power to open hearts, give clear, relevant, truthful feedback to actions and attitudes, and give unconditional acceptance. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is goal oriented to meet the client's need for personal growth and healing. Clients see change very early in therapy and usually 6 sessions for individual, or 8 sessions for groups, to make substantial progression toward their goals, with 12 sessions being the average amount.
The registration process is thru self-referral just like the riding lessons and therapeutic Horsemanship.
EAP is ALWAYS co-facilitated by a CERTIFIED MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST AND A CERTIFIED EQUINE SPECIALIST!
