We started our cattle operation with the intention of raising the best commercial cattle we could. We believe in physical soundness, calm/quiet dispositions, outstanding muscling, and milking ability. Our cattle are moderate in size, but big in production. we pick bulls that are outstanding individuals, easy to handle, and pack the muscle on, while remaining easy calving. Our facilities are built for the comfort and care of the cattle, as well as the people. We train our cattle to be easy to move and handle (they come when called!) We run around 200 head of primarily black angus cross cows, and sell calves at weaning in October. We buy top quality heifer calves every fall, and after going over the herd in the spring, pick only the best to breed to our fantastic Black Angus bulls. We also keep a few of our own heifers to replenish the herd. This year is the first year we will also be offering for sale our own heifers, bred to the same top bulls as the purchased heifers. We calve out a few extra heifers every year and breed them back to Simmental bulls, then sell them as second-calvers. We believe in a short breeding season, to weed out any fertility issues, and so you get a more consistent calf crop in the fall. Plus you don't have to calve out cows all summer! We also expect our heifer's calves to sell right up there with the cow's calves; none of this, "oh, it's a heifer's calf, that's why it's so small"! We've been doing this for a long time and understand ranchers want a good cow that has a good calf and you don't want to put in any more work than you have too. You can buy with confidence, knowing that we aren't scared of calving out any of our heifers, and you shouldn't be either!
