What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are a popular new service and product that lengthen and thicken the look of your natural lashes. Eyelash extensions are single strands of synthetic material that are curved to replicate the natural lash. They are applied to each individual natural eyelash one by one for a natural, beautiful and full look. Eyelash extensions are perfect for special occasions and/or for day-to-day wear.

What do eyelash extensions look like when applied?
With proper application, the look and feel is completely natural and real. No one will know you have extensions – they will just think you were born with beautiful, long lashes!

How long will my eyelash extensions last?
When applied properly, eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes. Everyone’s experience will differ based on day-to-day activities but in general, fills are required every 2-3 weeks.

What does a fill entail?
We recommend getting a fill every 2-3 weeks. If you wait too long your eyelash extensions will fall out and you will require a full set. Your natural eyelashes fall off every 45-60 days due to the natural growth cycle. Other factors such as exposure to steam or excessive touching of the eyes will cause the extensions to fall out sooner. A touch up is needed to fill in any lashes that have fallen. Fills usually last around 45 minutes.

Can I apply mascara to my eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions give the illusion of mascara being worn so it is not required. However it can still be worn. If you choose to wear mascara on top of your extensions, it must be water based. DO NOT WEAR OIL-BASED OR WATERPROOF MASCARA. Waterproof mascara (or any oil-based mascara) can dissolve the bonding agent and shorten the lifespan of your eyelash extensions because they will fall out much sooner. Special Extension Mascara is recommended and should only be applied to the ends of the lashes. Additionally, care should be taken to properly remove the mascara. We recommend using soap and water OR specially formulated make-up remover for eyelash extensions.

Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing eyelash extensions?
YES, the bonding agent we use is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise, etc. Special care is required but overall maintenance is low. We do recommend keeping your eyes dry for 24 hours after application.

Can I use eyelash curlers with eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are curved in order to give you a natural but full look. We do not recommend the use of manual eyelash curlers as they can potentially damage the extensions and possibly your own natural lashes.

How do I take care of my new eyelash extensions?
- Do not get lashes wet for 24 hours after application
- Avoid hot steam or sauna
- Avoid running water directly on your lashes
- Do not rub your eyes
- Only use oil-free mascara (optional)
- Use oil-free make up remover
- Do not perm your lashes
- Do not use a mechanical eyelash curler
- Do not pull on your lashes (this may cause your natural lashes to fall out prematurely and/or damage the natural hair follicles, which can be permanent)
- Comb lashes every 1-2 days with the provided lash brush
- DO LIE and say the lashes are yours ;)

Is the application process safe?
The eyelashes are applied in a clean, safe environment. Clients will lie on their back on a professional massage table. The eyelash extensionist uses only medical grade equipment and cleaners. The application process is pain-free and relaxing (some clients even fall asleep!)

How long will it take to apply eyelash extensions?
The application process takes anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half. A newly certified professional may take longer. The extensionist will apply under-eye pads to cover your lower lashes and then the extensions will be applied to each individual eyelash.

How do I choose the look I want?
Eyelash extensions are available in a number of lengths and thicknesses. We normally consult with clients first to determine the look and style they are trying to achieve. We also determine what the natural lashes can hold in regards to thickness and size. Each natural eyelash will vary in length and width, so we take this into consideration when selecting the right styles. The overall appearance of the lashes should be natural.
