Kids Day Ottawa 2.34

Kids Day Ottawa is a free health and safety day for children and families in Ottawa! Kids Day Ottawa had its 7th annual event on Saturday, September 21st, 2012 from 12pm - 3pm at Arc-En-Ciel Elementary School, 1830 Portobello, in Orleans!

Ottawa Councillor Bob Monette opened the event, reading the Mayor's Proclamation for Kids Day Ottawa. Orleans Orthodontics provided free dental screenings, and New Freedom Chiropractic provided free posture and spinal screenings. Ottawa Police were there to discuss children's safety, as well as a member of the Ottawa Police Tactical Unit to demonstrate bomb suits and the robot. Ottawa Fire Department made a special appearance, giving children the opportunity to see the inner workings of a fire truck. We had prizes, giveaways, and food provided by Extreme Pita and Booster Juice from Orleans. Lu's Tae-Kwon-Do performed a fantastic martial arts demonstration, as well as involving the kids attending to participate. Little Ray's Reptiles was a great hit again, bringing big snakes, lizards, turtles, spiders, and a cayman croc!

This year's event benefited the Orleans-Cumberland Community Resource Centre.

2014's event is scheduled for Saturday, October 4th, 2014, at Gisele-Lalonde High School, 500 Millenium blvd, Orleans.
