Details

Kelowna Preservation Farm Society is a not-for-profit farm run by student, staff and faculty from UBC's Okanagan campus community focused on education and charity around naturally-grown, local food.

We harvest our spray-free vegetables using spin-farming technique wed with principles of natural, organic farming and permaculture. We sell our produce locally, and also donate to local charities that provide food to low-income families and those who are in need (in past years, this has meant donating food to the Kelowna Community Food Bank and the Kelowna Gospel Mission).

As a not-for-profit, we are dependent on the support of members and volunteers to realize our mission, and this is particularly so as we set about realizing our charitable and educational goals. This includes our Volunteer Apprentice Program, our WHISPER program, and our Local Food Community Program. Interested? Want to take part, to help us achieve our goals? Then just get in touch with our team, and once you hear about our ideas, tell us what you think. Part of our philosophy is that we work together, and that includes with new members and volunteers who share our vision of spreading the word about food security, sustainability, and health through food through education and work with and in the community.
